The Eagles Nest is at 1834 m on Mount Kehlstein a sheer peak on Obersalzberg. Hitler stayed here for parts of the War. It was used exclusively by Members of the Nazi Party for meetings and social does.
The Eagles Nest is in beautiful mountain scenery.---It is open May to October to the Public.--A luxury brass clad Lift ( elevator ) goes up 124 m to the summit. It is said that Hitler did not like small places, so mirrors were installed in the lift to make it look bigger, . Today there is a restaurant, i believe profits go to charity.--------I came by bus from Salzberg Austria a short ride. Today there is a large car park. The trip is great just for the scenery.--------The name in German is Kehlstenhaus
